Will you know Heaven?

Bob was walking along a winding mountain road. This was a road as beautiful and senic as any Bob had travelled. Beside him was his faithful companion Nick. Man and dog were in high spirits on this warm and sunny day. They walked together enjoying every moment for a long time. Eventually they came to a magnificent gate opening to streets of gold. Now Bob was vaguely aware that something tragic had happened. Now he remembered an accident. It was years before when his dog Nick had passed away. This place before them must be heaven. It certainly was more magnificent than anything he had ever imagined. Nearby, a footman attended the gates and offered greetings to the majestic city. Bob inquired if this was Heaven? It most certainly is replied the footman. "We have here the finest of everything for you. Here you will have wealth as you have never before known." Bob could not believe his eyes! Today he and his best friend arrived at the gates to eternity! Unbelievable! "Could I please have a glass of water and a bowl for my friend here? " Bob asked. "Certainly sir, but, sorry, we don't accept pets." Bob stood silent in shock! All these years he had believed in eternity only to find he would be seperated from his friend. He turned and proceeded down the road with his pal Nick. No place could be heaven without his long and trusted friend.
The day wore on and dusk was near when the winding road led to a farm gate where a beautiful woman offered greetings. Bob was now quite thirsty and he asked "Might you have water for me and my four-legged pal?" "Sure, there's a pump and a bowl for your dog," said the young woman. "Come on in." After man and dog had drank their fill, Bob noted, "What a pleasant farm, even better than Heaven!" The woman laughed, " This is Heaven!" But "Down the road that was heaven, too." Bob said in confusion. "Oh, That place with gold streets? Actualy, that's hell" said the young woman in jeans. "They screen out the folks who'd leave their best friends behind in order to walk gold streets. No my friend, this is the gate to Heaven"."
